From Ho Chi Minh to Chau Doc 2 Days Tour

One of the lesser-known attractions of the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam is the Tra Su Forest. The forest is a former plantation that is now a wildlife reserve. There are canals which are flooded (usually between November to March) and there are boats that will take you on tour.

DAY 01: HO CHI MINH CITY – LONG XUYEN – LANG LINH FIELD
Morning: company’s bus and tour guide receive tourists at appointed place to begin the home-stay tour to An Giang, following Sai Gon – Trung Luong road. On the way, we stop to have breakfast in Cai Lay before moving to Long Xuyen. We also have some interesting games on bus while travelling.
After having lunch in Long Xuyen, we continue the tour to Thanh My Tay commune, Chau Phu district along the highway 91. We then row boat on Vinh Tre watercourse to learn about the culture and living style of the people in this land. We pay a visit to the worshipping temple of Tran Van Thanh which is recognized as the historical and cultural relic on December 6th 1989. The temple was built on the ground of Phat Thay Tay An’s field in the past.
Afternoon: we keep rowing boat to visit a vast floating field in Lang Linh – Bay Thua in the past which serves as part of Long Xuyen quadrilateral now. In the past, there were lots of Bay Thua trees here that it became a revolutionary base of Lang Linh – Bay Thua revolution against French colony (1867 – 1873) under the lead of Tran Van Thanh – a big disciple of Phat Thay Tay An.
Tourists can pick some wild plants grown here including Dien Dien flowers, water lily or some kinds of vegetable growing on water in floating season. Another experience here includes fishing in traditional method with the locals in which different method gives different kinds of marine species including perch, Linh fish, small fish, me vinh fish, snakehead, catfish, etc,.
Evening: tourists have dinner on boat with products gained from their fishing trip. Some typical foods in floating season include Banh xeo with small shrimp and dien dien flower, fried Linh fish dipped in powder, grilled fish, braised perch, sour soup of fish and dien dien flower, small shrimp salad, snails or crabs boiled with lemongrass and so on. We then enjoy some performance of the local traditional music called Don ca tai tu; meet and talk to local people and learn about their culture. We overnight at local houses.
DAY 02: LANG LINH FIELD – TRA SU CAJUPUT FOREST – CHAU DOC – HO CHI MINH CITY
Morning: after having breakfast, tourists get on bus to move to Tinh Bien to visit Tra Su cajuput forest of 845 ha in acreage. Following watercourses, lotus lake and cajuput forests, we shall be admiring various types of birds, storks, bats, etc,.
We then row more deeply into the dense forest of cajuput to discover it. We then climb to the observation tower at 23m high to have the overview of Tra Su Cajuput Forest and Di Lac Buddhist statue, Van Linh Pagoda on Cam Mountain through telescope.
Lunch is served with specialties of the wetland including grilled fish, chicken steamed with bamboo leaves, braised fish, boiled wild vegetable.
Afternoon: car takes tourists back to the first place. The tour ends. Goodbye and see you again.
